Scorpio is the sign of depth, of roots below the frost line, and of the truth that waits underneath what we show. It is the part of you that knows nothing new begins in the light. It begins in the dark.

This season has been a journey. The Virgo New Moon asked you to turn devotion into daily practice. The Aries Full Moon lit your fire and held it up to the mirror of relationship. The Libra New Moon taught the practice to dance. Then the Hunter’s Moon in Taurus asked what was real enough to keep, and you gathered your harvest and left the rest in the field.

Now the field is bare, and the Moon goes dark in Scorpio. What you left behind is not wasted. It is becoming soil. The question is no longer what to keep. It is this: now that the ground is clear, what will you plant in it?

At the Full Moon, Scorpio stood across the sky asking what you must release. Now both lights meet there, and the releasing turns into something else. Scorpio does not only take away. It seeds.

Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, close beside this New Moon. You may not be able to see the path ahead, and you are not meant to yet. This is a moon for listening downward, for hearing what you have known for a long time and not said, even to yourself.

Mars and Jupiter stand together in Leo, squaring this New Moon. The heart is loud. It wants to be seen, to act, to make something bold. Scorpio answers that anything bold has to be rooted in what is true, or it will not hold. The tension between the two is the gift of this lunation: courage that has gone deep enough to mean it.

Venus is still retrograde in Libra, and the review of your values and relationships that sharpened at the Full Moon is nearly complete. Four days after this New Moon, on November 13, both Venus and Mercury turn direct. What you plant now in the quiet is what will begin to move when they do.
