What is a Despacho?
A Despacho (pronounced “des-PAH-cho”) is a sacred gift—a prayer bundle meticulously assembled with flowers, seeds, candies, symbolic objects, and your personal intentions. Each element carries specific meaning and medicine, woven together to create a powerful offering that feeds the spirit world while nourishing your own soul’s journey.
This ceremony is rooted in the Andean principle of ayni—sacred reciprocity and right relationship. When we give to the universe with love and gratitude, we open channels to receive blessings in return, restoring balance and harmony in our lives, families, and communities.

What Happens During the Ceremony:
This sacred gathering typically lasts 2.5 to 3 hours and unfolds in several meaningful stages:
Opening Sacred Space: We begin by calling in the Four Directions—South, West, North, and East—along with Mother Earth (Pachamama) and Father Sky (Inti Tayta), creating a protected container for our ceremony.
Intention Setting: Each participant shares their prayers and intentions, which become woven into the fabric of the Despacho.
Building the Prayer Bundle: Together, we mindfully arrange flowers, seeds, sweets, and symbolic items into a beautiful mandala pattern. Each element is blessed and placed with prayer—flowers for beauty, coca leaves for gratitude, candies for sweetness, shells for the feminine, and much more.
Individual Energetic Cleansing: Each participant receives a personal energetic clearing to release heavy, dense, or stuck energies, making space for the blessings to take root.
Blessing & Release: Once complete, the Despacho is blessed, wrapped with love, and prepared for its journey. It is then released to the sacred fire, where the smoke carries your prayers to the heavens and the spirit world.
Closing: We close sacred space with gratitude and allow time for integration and sharing.
