I see you, I hear you, I understand.

We are the last daughters of the patriarchy. It's been a bit rough, and we're about to turn the corner into a new landscape.

The way forward is to heal the Mother Wound.

You're invited to explore tender spaces within you to unlock suppressed pain and unleash love. Only by acknowledging what you experienced as a child, teenager, woman, and mother--and being witnessed with non-judgment and compassion--can you fully heal and reclaim your sovereignty.

You have to let go of being validated by anyone outside of you.
You need to be held by someone who's been there so you feel safe.

Last night I was in sacred ceremony to bring the next layer of healing to my heart by acknowledging to all the versions of Kerri that ever were--I know what you've been through, and I'm sorry you had to feel all that pain.

It's important to acknowledge your own journey, and feel all the feelings, even as I am about to teach you how to claim gold from the pain.

I just want my mom to hear me, see me, and validat

I just want my mom to hear me, see me, and validate me.
But she can't do it.

Why?

I deeply understand wanting your mother to see you, hear your pain, and validate you. I also wanted that for most of my life, until I realized why she couldn't do it.

She can't validate me because of the Mother Wound.

It took me having an experience with my 17 year old son to understand it. For weeks the tension had been building. It felt like a heavy weight throughout the house. Until finally I sat him down and asked him what was going on. Under pressure, he broke open.

Everyone is saying you're abusing me.

In this moment, my inner dialog was wrapped up with 'everyone' and why were they saying this. And the more important thing, for my son, was to stay present with him. He needed my validation that he felt abused, and that other people were affirming this perception for him. So I held space for his feelings, because letting him know that I saw him and heard him was more important than anything else.

Because of the deep healing I have done with my own Mother Wound, I was able to be there for him in that moment. I stayed present to his feelings without denying them. To deny his feelings is to deny his reality and invalidate him which is one of the most painful things you can experience in life--being invalidated by your mother. I know, I've experienced that a lot in my life which is what led me to do this work to heal the Mother Wound.

I felt what my son felt and it opened my heart through the pain.

Today we are closer than ever because I was willing to reach past my own defenses to feel my son's truth and acknowledge it. A mother can only show up in this way when she's healed her own Mother Wound.

When a mother has not healed her own Mother Wound, your truth scares her and she invalidates you to protect herself. It takes inner strength and love to face the hard discussions in life.

You're too much. You're too sensitive. You're too

You're too much. You're too sensitive. You're too emotional.

When someone says this to you, how do you react? Do you think you've done something wrong? Do you diminish yourself to fit in to their expectations? Do you take it personally?

This is the Mother Wound.

Before I healed the Mother Wound within me, I would try to fix myself to be less sensitive, less emotional, and well...just LESS. I wanted to fit in and be accepted, and it seemed the only way was to stop being me.

If a relationship doesn't have room for the real you, it's not a real relationship, is it?

Now if someone says I'm too much, my response is very different. I breathe and acknowledge that for this person, I feel like "too much" for them to handle. I might say "Mmmm, I feel that's true for you in this moment."

Then after a pause, I might ask "Would you like to expand your capacity so that nothing ever feels like too much again?"

It's not a problem that someone thinks you're too much.
It's an invitation to help them be MORE.

We are in a transition out of shunning sensations and emotions by numbing and denying them, into fully embracing and feeling EVERYTHING. For people who have been repressing all their feelings, that's "too much" and scary.

Feminism is supporting women’s voices. Not just

Feminism is supporting women’s voices. Not just when you agree. Not just when it’s convenient for you.

I’ve been reflecting for decades on what it means for women to support women. As it turns out, even well educated women who choose an institution dedicated to the idea of women supporting women cannot always lift themselves to that ideal in expression. Even these women are subject to the effects of thousands of years of denigrating and tearing down the female support network in the human population.

This is the Mother Wound in action. Women who say they want to support their sisters cannot bring themselves to do it because of their own inherited conditioning, judgments, and biases—even if they’ve aligned themselves to an institution that has supporting your sister as a core value.

It happens in nuanced ways that erodes the fabric of the collective ideal. Even well educated women committed to feminism, cannot lean into difficult conversations. They lack the emotional resiliency or willingness to lean into discomfort and do the inner work at hand.

If we want a world that sustains life for our grandchildren, we must begin by having those uncomfortable conversations that we are avoiding in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our countries and in the world.

I’ve seen this played out in women’s spiritual groups as well because the Mother Wound is alive in us all until we choose to look within and heal.

As a collective we often set high ideals that we then strive to fulfill on an individual level. There’s a gap between ideal and reality, and that gap is an invitation to the inner self mastery that lifts you in expression to the ideal.

If you are a woman who still feels competitive with other women, or you judge other women and exclude their voices because it doesn’t fit your world view, it’s time to heal the Mother Wound.
